Academic Exchange of School of Transportation Engineering
School of Transportation Engineering includes four majors: road, bridge and river crossing engineering, surveying and mapping engineering, traffic engineering and logistics engineering.There is first class discipline of transportation engineering and 3 second class disciplines of bridge and tunnel engineering, vehicle engineering, civil surveying and mapping engineering. Among them, the major of road bridge and river crossing engineering is the advantage specialty, the transportation engineering is the superiority discipline. There are 52 teachers in the school of transportation engineering, including 8 professors and 21 associate professors, and there are 24 people with doctorates. There is Liaoning research center of low-carbon pavement materials engineering, road engineering laboratory, bridge engineering laboratory, mapping engineering laboratory, traffic engineering laboratory and logistics engineering laboratory. In recent years, the School of Transportation Engineering has conducted fruitful academic exchanges with experts and scholars from the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Germany, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Academic exchange activities such as participation of teachers in academic meetings and academic exchanges with experts and scholars from abroad are about 30 times a year. The team of Professor Wang Zhanfei of Bridge and Tunnel Engineering and Kumamoto University in Japan conduct academic exchanges every year, which provides a high level of communication platform for science teachers and graduate students. In 2017, we invited Michael Batty of the University College of London, a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences, to our university for academic exchanges. The cross-coupling of transportation, big data and traffic planning has greatly enhanced the vision of surveying and mapping and technical subjects in our college, and provided a scientific reference for the construction of surveying and mapping engineering and traffic engineering. In 2016, Professor Hongtan Liu of the University of Miami, USA, came to our college for academic exchange, which coupled clean energy and clean power system of vehicle engineering, and provided a new channel for the development of vehicle engineering subject in our college. In 2017, Professor Ye Xinyue of Kent State University in the United States held a month-long academic exchange in ourcollege，and he had a deep communication with the teachers of the surveying and mapping engineering, which provides valuable advice for the training of scientific team and young talents. In a word, the exchange with our domestic and foreign counterparts broadens the horizon of teachers, raises the level of discipline construction, and provides the foundation for the future development of the college.
